Creativity is something I strive for and have struggled with. Going back to my imagination like when I was a child. This is the meditation practice I chose this morning. I have half a day off and want to be creative and take risks with my creativity.

The practice to use on visualizing a safe place or a place you can feel creative. I chose a lake by a mountain with a little cabin on the shore with a dock. I would sit in front of my cabin and just watch nature around me and write poetry.

This was my place where I feel I could truly be creative and express myself…where would your place be? I’m curious where people like to be creative.

Daily Calm-Shempa

With a lot of my practices I learn new words and today was no different, shempa. Shempa is like that spark that starts our reactions to negative events, is our habitual reactions to be precise.

By using mindfulness we can be aware of these reactions and the situations that cause them. By being mindful of them we can control our emotions and react in a calmer way.

I personally have become much more aware of my reactions and now that I have a name for it, my shempa, and control and be aware of those sparks.
